Looking back to 2023, I am grateful for the opportunity to dive back into aviation, which I saw as a second chance in life to gain a deeper understanding of the industry beyond my digital marketing background.
I had a fulfilling experience and learned a great deal. My team was great, we absolutely crushing it in driving brand awareness and sales conversion for the the Airline. And most importantly, I managed to reconcile with a female leader I greatly admired in the aviation field.
However, these accomplishments weren't enough… I feel that my career has regressed, and my earning potential has diminished, especially since I had to accept a pay cut of more than 50% to join MYA.
For the past several months, I have been searching for new employment, but with no success. It’s hard not to self doubt with rejections after rejections. I was desperate as I did not want to only be able to pay off my debt in my 70s with my meager salary.
Then one fateful day, MYAirline unexpectedly ceased operation, leaving the 900 of us without jobs. Although technically still employees, we were no longer working, and some of us hadn't been paid since September.
Ironically, this incident turned out to be a blessing in disguise. With the extra time on my hands, I started taking Teacher Zhou's teachings more seriously. His ideas weren't entirely new to me, as I had been exposed to self-help and spiritual books since I was a teenager. However, listening to his teachings reignited my passion for knowledge and the untapped potential I had kept suppressed for years.
One day, as I was scrolling through Facebook, I came across a post that allowed me to gain access to hundreds of Teacher Zhou's teaching materials, videos, and ebooks. Since then, I have been like a sponge, constantly absorbing his teachings through hour video vies and and reading. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I have come to embrace the belief that everything that happens is meant to serve me in some way. So I don’t really dwell too much in the collapse of MYA or why didn't I get the job that I wanted, so on and so forth.
Instead, I immerse myself in positivity and high energy every day since October. I have started to believe again that I deserve to live a life of abundance, earn the salary I desire, and enjoy the lifestyle I aspire to. Miraculously, money has never stopped flowing in every month and I am grateful for my lucky star who extended a helping hand since October so that I can pay my bills and put food on the table.
Now as we cross over to 2024, I am all pumped up. For new opportunities that I’ve secured and the endless possibilities that is coming my way.
